Complementary Symptom Support During Chemotherapy in Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Patient Profile
A 72-year-old male with aggressive metastatic prostate cancer presented with documented metastases to the bone and lungs. The patient was undergoing systemic treatment with docetaxel chemotherapy and androgen deprivation therapy.
Baseline Symptoms
Prior to chemotherapy initiation, the patient reported significant anxiety related to his diagnosis and persistent bone pain associated with skeletal metastases.
Treatment-Associated Symptoms
Following the initiation of chemotherapy, the patient developed several common treatment-related adverse effects, including peripheral neuropathy, impaired cognition (often referred to as “brain fog”), severe fatigue, and insomnia. These symptoms significantly affected the patient’s quality of life and daily functioning.
Complementary Intervention
In search of chemotherapy symptom relief, the patient initiated Lucentra ONCO, an alcohol-free homeopathic liquid formulation designed to provide homeopathic cancer support by alleviating symptoms associated with cancer and its treatment.
Observed Response
After two initial doses, the patient reported immediate improvement in perceived energy levels and a reduction in anxiety. With continued dosing at twice daily administration over the following week, the patient noted an improvement in neuropathic symptoms, enhanced sleep quality, and ongoing improvement in energy levels.
Additional Clinical Course
Bone pain decreased later during the course of treatment, likely related to tumor response following six cycles of chemotherapy rather than the complementary intervention.
Clinical Interpretation
This observation describes symptomatic improvement in fatigue, anxiety, neuropathy, and insomnia during chemotherapy while using a complementary homeopathic formulation. Although the patient was simultaneously receiving conventional oncologic therapy, which prevents establishing causal conclusions, this case highlights the potential role of integrative oncology approaches in managing treatment-related symptoms during cancer care.
Reduction of Chemotherapy-Associated Nausea and Fatigue in Advanced Cervical Cancer
Patient Profile
A 35-year-old female with stage IV cervical cancer presented for systemic treatment. The patient began chemotherapy according to the GOG-240 protocol, consisting of:
carboplatin
paclitaxel
± bevacizumab.
Treatment-Associated Symptoms
Following her first chemotherapy session, the patient experienced significant treatment-related symptoms, including:
severe nausea
extreme fatigue.
These symptoms developed shortly after treatment initiation and negatively impacted her comfort and daily functioning.
Complementary Intervention
To address these challenges, the patient initiated Lucentra ONCO, an alcohol-free homeopathic liquid formulation designed to provide chemotherapy symptom relief and support overall well-being during cancer treatment.
Observed Response
After one initial dose, the patient reported a dramatic reduction in nausea. She continued dosing at 10 drops twice daily. After approximately five doses, she reported:
noticeable improvement in fatigue
improved overall comfort.
Clinical Interpretation
This observation describes a rapid improvement in nausea and gradual improvement in fatigue following the initiation of a complementary homeopathic intervention during chemotherapy. As the patient was concurrently receiving standard anti-cancer treatment and this observation involves a single individual, causal relationships cannot be definitively determined. Nevertheless, the case suggests that homeopathic cancer support and complementary symptom-support approaches may warrant further investigation within integrative oncology settings.
